How To Fix The Linksys Velop Light Issues?

The Lights present on the devices signifies different working condition and status of the device. It is crucial to investigate their nature and why they are behaving in this manner. Some essential troubleshooting tips to look at before mending the Linksys Velop light Issues:

  • Firstly, the device should get a sufficient power supply.
  • All the wires and cables must be in proper working condition.
  • The Hardware should be working correctly as well.
  • The firmware should be updated to the most current version available.
Node lightsInferences with some possible solutions
BlueThe solid blue light indicates that you are connected to the internet. It generally appears when the node is online and the connection is good.  
Blinking BlueIn case it’s blinking blue, it means that the device is in power-on mode. Wait until the node powers on.
PurpleThe solid purple light denotes that the router is ready for setup now. You can simply open the Linksys app to complete the setup process. First, download it on your mobile device and then launch it to proceed ahead. You can register and complete the setup process in no time.
Blinking PurpleThis indicates that the setup is in progress. Just be at par with the app instructions to complete the setup process smoothly.
RedThe solid red light indicates no internet and you are not online to proceed ahead.
Blinking RedIt indicates that the Node isn’t in the range of another node. You can try to move it closer in case this is your primary node. Also, make sure that you are connected to the modem. You can also check that you selected the compatible network frequency in the router settings. If you want to try any solution, disconnect the router from the modem and connect it again.
Yellow or Orange lightThis light generally denotes a Weak connection. It signifies that the node is connected to the internet but the signal is weak. You can move it closer to another node to improve the signal.

How to fix the Linksys Velop light issue?

  • Check the internet connection with your local internet service provider to detect and resolve service interruptions.
  • The power supply should not be disturbed.
  • Also, recheck your cable connections. The wires transmitting the connection should be damage-free.
  • Place the devices closer to each other. There should not be any significant gap between them.
  • Make sure that you check the compatibility of the devices as well.
  • You can also try to reboot your Linksys router here.
  • Make sure that the cable and connections are smooth and in working condition. A loose or damaged cable may lead to disrupted internet connectivity. Ensure that you check the cables carefully.
  • Try rebooting the router. You can unplug the device from its power source, let it rest for a few minutes and then plug it back again. It might help and the blinking blue light will turn to solid blue.
  • Lastly, you can also try to restart the network. Unplug all the devices, including the router and the modem. You disconnect the battery as well along with the modem. Please, wait for a few seconds and replug them again.

Linksys Velop Login via the Linksys app

  • Firstly, connect the mobile device to the wifi and open the Linksys app.
  • Click on Manage your wifi. In case you are using android, click Log in instead.
  • You can enter the necessary credentials for the account and tap on the login once prompted. You can tap on Router Password for iOS or Use Router Password for android for local access. Enter the password. Click on login.
  • You will be redirected to the dashboard on bridge mode.
  • You can successfully access the dashboard while on the bridge mode.

Login through the Linksyssmartwifi.com

  • Open any compatible browser and input the default IP address 19.168.1.1 in the browser’s address bar and hit enter.
  • Click on Continue to Linksys Smart WiFi link.
  • Input the admin password on the router password field and click Sign In.
  • You will be redirected to the dashboard on bridge mode.

Resetting the Linksys mesh router

When you think of resetting the router, you should keep in mind that one simple reset will erase all your saved and customized settings and you will be left with nothing but to start from scratch. So, consider it cautiously. You can reset the router in two ways:

Manual Reset

  • Ensure that the router is connected to the power source and is turned ON.
  • You can press the reset button and keep holding it for 10 seconds to reset the router
  • You will notice a bright red flash followed by 3-4 quick faded red pulses then another bright red flash. Now, release the button with this.

Software Reset

  • Firstly, you can log into Linksyssmartwifi.com.
  • Click Troubleshooting under router settings.
  • Now go to the Diagnostic tab.
  • You can click on the Reset link under Factory reset. This will reset the router.
  • Click on Yes to reset the router.

You have successfully reset the mesh router now.
